What to Expect on Tryout Day

• Arrive 20 minutes before your scheduled tryout time or check-in.
• A parent must be present with each player for check-in.
• Ensure your player’s online account and registration is complete before check-in, including:
• Uploaded athletic headshot photo (hair pulled back)
• Uploaded birth certificate or passport
• Submitted risk waiver
• Wear appropriate volleyball attire. Players will receive a tryout t-shirt to wear during tryouts.
• Bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.
• Spectators are allowed to stay. Please bring a chair.
• Parent Meeting: A parent meeting will begin as soon as tryouts start. Do not leave until the meeting is finished.
• If you leave, parents should return to the gym one hour before tryouts end.
• After tryouts, you will receive either a phone call with an offer or an email.
• If offered a spot on the team, you must accept immediately.
• Payment for the $700, non-refundable, club commitment deposit is required within one hour of offer to secure your player's spot.
• If you are unable to accept at that time, the position will be offered to the next player.

Parents, please do not try to get the player’s attention for any reason during the tryout; this only hinders the players from having their full focus on what we are asking them to accomplish. In some circumstances, a TWU staff member may want to discuss options for your player. Please make yourself available so that these types of conversations will not lengthen the tryout time. We understand that this is a stressful time for players and families; we will always try our best to help make this experience enjoyable and educational.

Create a Parent Account on our website platform.     

• Former TWU families will need to create a new account as well.
• When prompted, add your player as a participant.
• Upload a clear, athletic photo of your player with her hair pulled back.

Register Your Player for Tryouts

•  The system will automatically prompt you to register for the correct tryout based on your player's information. If your player is young for their grade and you need to register for a different higher division, email Jojit at jojitC@twunited.com.
•  If you encounter an error, double-check the birth date entered in your player's profile. If it's incorrect, this could hinder registration.
• Important: If you wait until tryout day to register, the price will increase.

Complete the Player’s Account Profile Before Tryouts

•   Upload a clear athletic photo of your player (hair pulled back).
•   Upload a copy of your player’s birth certificate or passport.
•   Submit the online risk waiver.

🔴 Accounts must be complete before tryout check-in.

Accepting a Club Team Offer

• If your player is selected for a team, you will receive an "Offer" email.
• To accept, you must immediately submit the $700 non-refundable deposit.
• Payment is online only via ACH, credit card, or debit card.

Players are placed based on their age on July 1, 2026

(Grade levels listed are typical but not guaranteed)

• 18s – Born 7/1/2008 – 6/30/2009 (Typically 12th Grade)
• 17s – Born 7/1/2009 – 6/30/2010 (Typically 11th Grade)
• 16s – Born 7/1/2010 – 6/30/2011 (Typically 10th Grade)
• 15s – Born 7/1/2011 – 6/30/2012 (Typically 9th Grade)
• 14s – Born 7/1/2012 – 6/30/2013 (Typically 8th Grade)
• 13s – Born 7/1/2013 – 6/30/2014 (Typically 7th Grade)
• 12s – Born 7/1/2014 – 6/30/2016 (Typically 6th Grade)
• 11s – Born 7/1/2015 – 6/30/2016 (Typically 5th grade)

Woodlands United private and semi-private tryouts are only for any players who absolutely CANNOT attend an early tryout or regular tryout day in July. We greatly recommend being at your actual tryout date, but if you cannot make it then this is your next best option. There are no refunds on tryout fees.

You will not receive an offer during private and semi-private tryouts. On the actual day of your age group’s tryout you will either receive an offer, a waitlist offer, or declined a spot in the club based on the tryouts by phone or email.
